Let me quote what I put in the bulletin some time ago:
Dear Parishioners,
In the need to make better use of the limited number of priests available to serve as pastors, You share me, Fr. Jacek. I call it: Parish Partnerships. We combine efforts to do the work of the Church more economically and effectively.
The Parish Partnership of Our Lady of Czenstochowa and St. Vincent de Paul will help us to grow by combined efforts in evangelization and will also help to encourage vocations to the priesthood so that we have more priests, not less.
As you can see, I combined some parish activities and coordinated Mass and other liturgical schedules. Now we have one parish website. These things help me to better serve you.
And just a reminder, Our Lady and St. Vincent, in this partnership remain canonically independent. The parish finances are kept distinct. Assets and debts remain with each parish. Each has its own collection envelopes and budget, (although I encourage you to visit the “sister parish” every so often and you can leave your envelops there. They will be transported back to your Church). Each Parish also keeps its own Finance Council.
I hope this Parish Partnership will create a bond between St. Vincent and Our Lady communities. As with any good relationship, it is one that will require charity, openness, and good will.
